Focused Communities of Learning

Students at each grade level are assigned to a "cluster" of approximately 115 students. Each cluster is taught by a "team" of teachers.

Morning Announcements

Friday, December 19th  Day 1
Lunch:  Pasta with Marinara Sauce
Evolution Dance:  If you were not at practice YESTERDAY please stop by room 1402 and check in with Miss C some time today, and have a great break!
7th and 8th Grade Band sectionals for today are as follows: Period 1 - Group 2, Period 2 - Group 3, Period 6 - Group 4, Period 7 - Group 1.
All band and strings students are reminded to take their instruments home over break. 
The International Peace Day student committee will be starting again after the winter break.  Please contact Mrs. Shalit or Mrs. Stacey if you are interested in joining this group of community minded students. 
Yearbook Club: There will NOT be a meeting today as previously announced.   Students assigned pages to work on should do so over the holiday break.  We will see everyone on the first Friday in January!  Happy Holidays.
Wounded Warriors Program raises awareness and helps injured service members.:  Students from Mrs. McKeon;s HR 2303 will be collecting money from homerooms throughout the month of January.  The homeroom with the most money will win a prize!
Reminders to all players on the girls basketball teams.  Team gear order forms are due to Coach Pierce by the end of the day today.  You can drop them off in room 2308.  It is the blue cluster upstairs.  
Student Council would like to congratulate the following 3 homerooms:
In third place, for theme, creativity, and use of materials is Mrs. Snowling's homeroom, 1201!
In second place, for use of materials and theme, is Mrs. McKeon's homeroom, 2302.
And In first place, for creativity and theme, is Ms. Mickola's homeroom, 1203!
After the break, each of these homerooms will receive a hand-made wooden trophy!  Thanks to all that participated!
The First Issue of The Cardinal Newspaper is OUT! Find it on the KMS website under Clubs and Activities: Cardinal Newspaper - Lots of stories about KMS students, staff, and our activities! It's in color, with great pictures and illustrations! A few complimentary paper copies in black and white will be available at lunches and in the IMC! Look out for the Fall 2014 Issue of The Cardinal Newspaper!
